Flux strives to achieve a balance of energy levels to facilitate the needs of the individual workers The floor plan expresses a dynamic traffic flow, allowing speedy transmission of ideas throughout the design process, High Ceilings and natural light over the work areas stimulate the mind and body, while the lounge and patio areas allow quiet relaxation.

Functional Goals

  • Mixture of private and non-private working areas
  • Storage for material samples and reference material
  • Large area for project construction
  • Multiple conference rooms

Floor Plan Perspectives



Site and Orientation

  • Located in downtown San Diego
  • Main entrance faces West.
  • Existing buildings North, East, and South. All assumed to be 10+ stories
  • tall.
  • Design studio will be at street level.
  • Residential areas will be on second story, approx 10’ above street level.

Perspective Drawings




I designed the presentation boards to hide the drawings that weren't required, so I could reveal them midway through my presentation.  The videos below show how the floor plans and the perspective drawings flip between the standard drawings and the AutoCAD renderings
